Steps We Take To Be More Eco-Friendly And Reduce Our Environmental Impact
Every household has an impact on the environment and as COP26 kicks off, we’d like to share what we do at Burghope Cottage to be more eco-friendly and reduce our environmental impact.
💚 Shop local – most of our welcome hamper goodies are from the local farm shop – Hartley Farm. We also encourage guests to shop here too.
💚 Refill toiletries – Refillable Duck Island shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand wash provided at the cottage.
💚 Recycle Nespresso pods and we encourage guests to recycle other waste.
💚 Good quality Miele kitchen appliances that last.
💚 Guppyfriend washing bag for the washing machine to stop micro-plastic pollution.
💚 EcoEgg Laundry Egg as seen on BBC1’s ‘Shop Well for the Planet’. A unique and innovative laundry washing system that completely replaces laundry detergent and fabric conditioner, giving you a kinder laundry solution.
💚 Rapid charging electric car charger – for EV owners.
💚 Burghope is a new renovation – we used all recycled Bath stone to build the cottage and it is fully insulated. Burghope is also close to public transport links – bus and train.
💚 Mini Radnor Preserves marmalade and preserve jars in the welcome hamper to avoid waste.
💚 Fresh herbs and bee-friendly flowers in the garden – we even leave the berries at the back for birds.
💚 Lavender from the garden used in the cottage.
